As you decorate with seashells, you will be creating beautiful homemade home décor items that you can use
summer after summer and year after year.
Summertime is beach time. And when kids are at the beach, they must enjoy their time collecting shells and bringing the sea back home. They get happy memories and unleash their creativity while playing with these urchins, seashells, and starfish. But who said that seashells are only for kids. Adults love seashells and can unfold decorative opportunities and decorate with seashells using these summer stars.
As you decorate with seashells, you will be creating beautiful homemade home décor items that you can use summer after summer and year after year. In this article, I gathered a range of decorative items you can style in your home or office. So, if you have a collection of seashells you brought home from your last vacation, don’t keep them hidden in a bucket in one of your cabinets. On the contrary, pull them out, and let’s decorate with seashells!
Decorating with seashells is not hard and does not require too many materials. You will need a hot glue gun to stick the seashells where required. This hot glue allows the seashells to attach steadily, especially since some of these seashells weigh more than others. If you look at the pictures below, you will find them self-explanatory. And I promise you will end up with beautifully decorated items that you will love to display at your home or office.
To decorate a mirror with seashells, you need a mirror, a glue gun, and a bunch of seashells. To illustrate the mirror, you need to decide on your desired design. You can stick the seashells around the mirror just like in the picture below or create bouquets of seashells on one or two sides of the mirror. You can also create a path of lovely seashells in an algorithm or random style. No matter the design you choose, the different shades in colors of the seashells and their different shapes and forms will always reward you with a unique decoration.
Did you choose your container? Make sure it is stylish enough because all you will do is fill the container with seashells. It is up to you to decide on placing these seashells. You may go with the most oversized shells at the bottom and end up with tiny seashells at the top. Or place the seashells randomly in the container. However, I highly recommend placing a few starfishes here and there. They will add an incomparable touch to the container.
Using seashells to produce unique jewelry designs is a trend you can follow every summer. Check out these earrings or this necklace. To make the necklace, you need a few pearls, a string, a chain, and a few jewelry design materials to close it. With these seashells, you can create a set of pendants and earrings and offer them as a personalized gift to someone you love.
Do you know that shells are not flammable? So, if you have a lovely chandelier, you can always decorate it with seashells. Whether you opt for big shells for a big or tall chandelier or a few small ones for a small one, you can always stick the shells with a hot glue gun, and you are done!
This vase in the picture is placed in my house. I love rustic decoration, jute, and seashells. So, look at this combination! I grabbed a rope of twine, rolled it around the vase, then stuck the seashells on the jute with the hot glue gun. My vase is now ready for display!
Check out this picture. There is beauty in every way in this display:
Now, going back to decorating with seashells, the simplicity of the lamps makes it easy to add a range of shells in different shapes, forms, sizes, and shades of color to end up with classy deshell-decorated lamps.
If you have a home farmhouse design style, you can use reclaimed wooden boards to decorate with seashells. Look at this grid made with wood boards. The designer stuck big seashells and complemented the design with a large piece of a seashell on the coffee table. How creative and simple is this?
With these creative ideas, you can now use the seashells collected every summer to decorate different items at home with shells. Furthermore, now you have another reason to spend quality time with your kids collecting seashells on the beach and bringing the ocean with you back home.
