Super Moist & Fluffy Marble Cake, who doesn’t love it? Rich with flavors with a soft & moist texture, it is by far a Quick Easy Recipe to make.

When I decided to share this marble cake recipe with you, I felt overexcited. The reason is that marble cake brings so many beautiful memories from my childhood. I still remember like nowadays, the visit to my aunt’s house and the amazing marble cake she used to master to perfection. I still do not know what is the secret of that recipe, but I can guarantee that her love for cooking and baking, which I inherited from her, did magic.

Now that you know where does my love for marble cake comes from, let’s jump into discovering the perfect recipe for a delicious marble cake without any further ado!

What makes this recipe superb?

I cannot wait for you to see it for yourself. But until you try this recipe, I promise you will have a fluffy, chocolate flavorful, soft and moist cake. The cake is made with simple ingredients and is easy to prepare to turn into a fabulous marble cake in no time.

What is marble cake made of?

Eggs:

Eggs should be at room temperature. This is an essential component of the recipe. I understand that many cake recipes call for mixing eggs and sugar, but our recipe calls for mixing the sugar with butter and oil first before starting to whisk the eggs. Do so and thank me later for the fluffiness that you will get.

Oil & Margarine:

7 oil and butter in a stand mixer bowl
Most western recipes for cakes call for the use of butter. I have developed a lighter and healthier recipe that will still give you the buttery taste you look for in cakes. In the end, a cake is a dessert that you love to indulge in and enjoy! This mixture between oil and margarine will help the cake become moist and elevate better, but will still save our most important objective: the flavor!

Buttermilk:

Let me stress here the fact that Buttermilk is not added to let the cake rise. Our recipe includes baking powder and baking soda which will do the rising magic. But, if you want to have a moist and rich taste of your cake, then do not substitute buttermilk with regular milk instead.

If buttermilk is not available in your fridge, then why not DIY. All you need is a tbsp of white vinegar or lemon juice or with a cup of milk and kept to thicken for 15 minutes.

Chocolate:

You may be thinking that you have never heard of adding chocolate to a marble cake recipe. And you are right because most of the recipes require adding chocolate cocoa only. I will be frank and say that you can easily eliminate the chocolate chips from the recipe, but I advise you to try it if you are looking for an intense chocolate flavor and a strong contrast between both chocolate and vanilla flavors.

How about the method to prepare this delicious marble cake?

Our recipe has several ingredients yet it is not hard to execute.

Start by melting the chocolate chip through a bain-marie. Put the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate in a bowl over boiling water in a pan and let the chocolate melt. Put chocolate aside.

Using a hand or stand mixer, beat the oil and margarine on high speed until they become fluffy, then add the sugar and them for 3 minutes. Reduce the speed to medium, add the eggs and beat them all together then add the vanilla and continue beating. Finally, add the buttermilk and mix all ingredients until well combined.

Mix the dry ingredients and start adding them to the mixture in 3 batches, mixing them with the batter through a wire whisk or spatula until well combined.

Transfer half of the batter into another bowl and all the cocoa and melted chocolate.

Grease your cake mold, and add half of the vanilla batter. Cover the vanilla batter with the chocolate batter and add the other half of the vanilla batter to the top.

Use a butter knife or a toothpick to swirl the batter. You are aiming for a delicious cake, but why not have a good-looking marble cake as well?
